1. Aga Khan Palace
The Aga Khan Palace is one of the most gorgeous places to visit in Pune. It was built in 1892. The palace features spacious rooms and vast, luxuriant gardens. It has been converted into a museum, showcasing a collection of artifacts and personal belongings of Mahatma Gandhi, offering a glimpse into his life and legacy. You can walk around the gardens and get to know about India’s history. It’s open every day except Monday from 9 in the morning to 5:30 in the evening.
2. Shani Shingnapur Fort
Shani Shingnapur Fort is an ancient fort on top of the hill. This Shani Shingnapur Fort was built hundreds of years ago. With big walls and pretty gates, the fort is beautiful. There is a special and amazing Shani god temple inside the fort. From the top of the fort, you can see really far. You see hills and farms with a village at the bottom. Operating hours are from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, making it accessible for visits throughout the day. Wear comfortable shoes as you have to climb the hill.
3. Darshan Museum
This was an element of fun and learning that helped me understand India’s art and culture. I mean, this isn’t much of a museum as most of the things here you can touch and play with. They have some light and sound shows, the really cool ones. You get to see nice paintings and old Indian stuff. There are even 3D pictures that look real! The museum is open from 10 in the morning to 6 in the evening, but on Mondays, it remains closed. One should have at least 2 or 3 hrs to spare for visiting the place properly.

4. Mulshi Lake and Dam
The Mulshi Lake is a large, beautiful lake close to Pune. It was created when a dam was built on the Mula River. The dam is huge and is, itself, a great structure. You get to see great views from the top of the lake and hills. Some people enjoy picnics here. Mulshi Lake and Dam is undoubtedly a great place for relaxation and enjoying nature. The opening time for both the lake and dam is from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening.
5. Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum
This museum contains numerous ancient things of India. More than 20,000 objects in here! You will see ancient swords, beautiful paintings, and nice sculptures. Even a special room made to resemble an old palace is in existence. It got its name from a doctor named Raja Dinkar Kelkar, who gathered all this stuff. Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum stays closed on Mondays. Here, you get loads of information about India’s history.
6. Sinhagad Fort
Perched atop a lofty hill, Sinhagad Fort is an ancient stronghold with a rich history, its crumbling walls standing testament to the passage of time. It’s a fun place to go hiking. The walk to the Sinhagad Fort summit typically takes approximately 1-2 hours. When you get to the top, you have a great view seeing far away. You can view the entire city of Pune and many hills from here. The fort is really ancient, housing loads of stories related to the battles that took place here. It remains open from 9 in the morning till 6 in the evening; however, it remains closed on Mondays. Don’t forget to carry water and wear good walking shoes.
7. Pu La Deshpande Garden
This is a beautiful garden in the heart of Pune. It has many green trees with several colored flowers and nice paths to walk on. You can have a nice picnic with your family here. There is also a children’s playground within the garden premises. The timings of the garden are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
8. National War Museum
The National War Museum is in New Delhi, not in Pune, but it’s an important place to know about. It is one of the special places that remembers brave soldiers who fought for India country. There’s a big memorial with an always-burning flame. The museum part is still being built. When it’s done, you’ll be able to see things from India’s wars. It will be a place to learn about India’s military history.
9. Osho Garden
Osho Garden is a very peaceful place. It used to be a place where people came to meditate. There’s a small stream running through it. It’s very quiet here, so it’s a good place to relax. You can walk on the paths or sit and enjoy nature. The garden is open from 6 in the morning to 6 in the evening. You don’t have to pay to go in, but they like it if you give a small donation to help take care of the garden.
10. Parvati Hill
Parvati Hill is a small mountain in Pune. On top of the Parvathi hill, there are special old temples. A challenging 108-step climb awaits those who dare to reach the top.
