1. Lighthouse

There are several famous resorts in the town, including the Point Pedro lighthouse. This structure stands in the northeastern corner of Sri Lanka. It is built in 1969 and rises to a height of 32 m. 

There was a strict restriction for almost 30 years to visit this Lighthouse due to the risk posed by terrorists. The public gained access to Point Pedro by the end of 2009. This Lighthouse is a part of a Naval base and is used as a watch tower. 

Here visitors can talk to the guard to obtain consent to view the tower from a close distance. But keep in mind that clicking the image at Point Pedro is strictly banned for security causes. Therefore, it is the best thing you can do in Point Pedro.

Nallur temple is famous worldwide, and many pilgrims from all parts of the world visit yearly. The main feature of this temple is the golden age and the vast Gopuram. Built-in the eighteenth century, the temple’s belief dates back to that era. 

During the Tamil Kings’ regime, this building was constructed. However, the Portuguese destroyed it in 1620. Any religious festival is now held here, making it the primary temple for this goal. Thus, it is one of the best things you can do in Point Pedro.

Keerimalai Naguleswaram Kovil is located close to Keerimalai Hot Spring Point Pedro in Sri Lanka. This temple is one of five holy temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. 

The long past of temples is long and goes back even past the period of Ram and Ravana. Due to the deity, temple premises, and water source, this shrine has a unique religious status in Hinduism.

A solid spiritual power emanates from this temple. There are Hindus and Buddhists both worshipping at this temple. The temple symbolises the mutual respect between them. 

The interior and style of this temple are pretty unique. However, it is not as great as other temples in Sri Lanka. The godly and historical value of this temple is real. And this makes it an important place for pilgrims all over the globe.

4. Keerimalai Spring

This famous spring is a beautiful spot located around 22 km away from Point Pedro. It has distinct sections for men and women in the pool. 

But there is a scenic view from the male side of the group of bright turquoise water, while the female side has a smaller, wall-enclosed pool. 

It is believed that the waters of Keerimalai Spring have healing properties. Here a large number of visitors relax, and this place has changing rooms nearby where the women are suggested to bathe in modest dress. 

You can easily access the bus from Jaffna to reach the spring. Or you can take a three-wheeler from Tellippalai. This terminus must be on every tourist bucket. And this is why it is one of the best things you can do in Point Pedro.

5. Maruthanamadam Anjaneyar Kovil

Anjaneyarkovil is located on the Jaffna-Kankesanturai route near the Maruthanamadam junction. It is one of the few Lord Hanuman temples in Sri Lanka. The Brahmachari Hanuman was one of the main symbols in the epic Ramayana.

But now, at one of the far edges of this Island, you can see a 72 High feet statue of Lord Hanuman. However, you can easily see it from far away. The temple also offers special poojas to Lord Hanuman on Tuesdays and Saturdays in addition to the daily poojas.

6. Chundikulam National Park

In 2015, the Sri Lankan government established the Chundikulam National Park by linking numerous nearby forests into one protected area. Seagrass beds and mangrove swamps are chiefs in the park. 

This park is home to many birds, such as black-tailed godwits, black-winged stilts, brown-headed gulls, common sandpipers, and greater flamingos. Among the animals seen in the park are deer and crocodiles. 

Chundikulam is home to leopards and bears, according to the report. Finding them in national parks is likely, but they are timid and not used to guests.
