Suggested Itinerary For Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek

Day 1: Kathgodam to Lohajung 

You can take an overnight train to reach Kathgodam from where you can reach Lohajung either through cab or public transport. If you want to save time, hiring a cab is recommended. If you are taking public transport, you must first take a bus from Kathgodam to Gwaldam and then take a shared cab or bus from Gwaldam to Lohajung. You can find budget accommodations at Lohajung.

Day 2: Lohajung to Didina Village 

You can start your trek towards the leisure route of Raun Bagad from Lohajung after breakfast. While trekking here, you can come across many pleasing views and you will also find Neel Ganga, a tranquil river. There is a petite bridge above the river after crossing which, the climb gets slightly steep. From here, you can start proceeding towards Didina Village which takes around 3 hours. The trail is also perfect for nature lovers as you get to trek through vibrant forests. You can halt the night at the campsite or homestays in Didina. 

Day 3: Didina Village to Ali Bugyal

On the third day, you can start trekking to Ali Bugyal from Didina Village. Starting the trek early at dawn is recommended if you want to enjoy the real beauty of Ali Bugyal. Along the trail, you will come across dense forests and sprawling greenery as you train through the refreshing fragrance of oak trees. While you climb higher, you will come across more varieties of coniferous trees such as pine, spruce, and deodar. Once you reach Tolkaan, you will get the first sight of meadows and once you reach the ridge, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Ali Bugyal’s green and verdant meadows. From here, it takes about an hour to reach the top of Ali Bugyal. Once you move further, you will come across many restful fiber huts constructed by the forest department. 

Day 4: Ali Bugyal to Bedni Bugyal 

This is the day where your wait of three days ends as you start trekking from Ali Bugyal towards Bedni Bugyal. While trekking through this trail, you can walk through a vast expanse of refreshing meadows. You can also witness the mesmerizing beauty of snow-capped Himalayan mountains and pasture land that will immediately rejuvenate you. Bedni’s meadow is covered with blooming flowers that are a sight that will enhance you. You will also witness the pristine lake of Bedni Kund located around the periphery of a small and tranquil temple. Here, devotees come to offer their obeisance while they are halting at BedniBugyal. Once you have explored all of these beauties, you can trek back to Bedni Bugyal, indulge in a scrumptious dinner, and halt overnight. 

Day 5: BedniBugyal-Wan-Lohajung

Once you finish with your breakfast, you can pack your bags and head towards a little exploration of Wan village. It is a downhill trek that takes around 3-4 hours to complete. After visiting the village, you can take a cab to Lohajung and stay for an overnight halt.

Day 6: Lohajung – Rishikesh/Kathgodam

After breakfast, you can drive towards Rishikesh or Kathgodam from Lohajung and indulge in a delicious lunch. By evening, you’ll reach your destination and you can stay at a hotel overnight.
