Red fort-
The fort is now a UNESCO world heritage site since 2007 and the magnificent monument will surely win your heart. The Red Fort covers an area of 254.67 acres with huge walls built by the Mughal rulers for protecting themselves from the enemy attacks. The shape of the fort is octagonal and just like some of the well renowned Mughal architectures, it too has domes and huge marbles structure with intricate carvings found in it. The floral decorations found here are surely awe-striking. On every Independence Day, the prime minister of India visits this fort to hoist the national flag and deliver a speech on the special day. For attracting much more tourists and letting them known about the fort’s speciality and its rich history a sound and light show is usually organised during the evenings which tells us about the Mughal Empire and their rule over the lands of Delhi.
