The observatory was built in 1837 and has an 11-inch telescope for better facilities to watch stars. The observatory was built by King Sri Swathi Tirunal who got all the instruments for it from Europe. Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple

The gold plates temple is one of the 108 Divya Desams and is highly visited by n number of Hindu followers every year. The temple is dedicated to Lord Padmanabha and as the temple is one of the main temples that follows Vaishnavism, many worshippers visit the holy sacred Hindu Shrine. The temple is very much similar to the Adikesavaperumal Temple and as per the belief this temple was established on the first day of Kali Yua. Thus, it traces back to 5000 years ago and the temple is also mentioned in many Holy Hindi scrips including n the Bhagwat Gita.
