Gangotri Temple
The Gangotri sanctuary is a great structure constructed with marble that is 20 feet high and is said to be more than 300 years of age. This wonderful sanctuary is devoted to Goddess Ganga and was erected in the eighteenth century by a Gurkha Commander - Amar Singh Thapa. The Maharaja of Jaipur modified this place in the twentieth century, and over 2.5 lakh explorers rush to this sanctuary every year. When in Gangotri, make sure to visit the monastery and be a part of the impressive Ganga Aarti, which is performed to thank the river goddess.
