The majestic mosque on this scared land was built years back on 1847 AD. It was constructed by the great Mughal Emperor Humayun Jah’s son, Nawab Nazim Mansoor Ali Khan Feradun. The huge complex is considered to be the greatest and biggest structure with a stunning architecture is the entire Bengal. Along with the Mughal style architecture of the mosque makes it look much more amazing with the greenery filled surrounding it.
The ancient place used to have a beautiful palace and this amazing lake’s view years back. But now tourists can only find the lake which is pretty combination of both British and Indian history. The unique horseshoe shape of the lake along with stunning scenic view makes this place a highly cherished one. It was excavated by Nawazesh Mohammad, and later several British officials resided near this place for enjoying its beauty. There is also a beautiful old mosque of Shahamat Jang present here which is now the only ancient place standing strong near the lake.
The massive palace has been standing strong giving us a glimpse of the royal Nawab lifestyle and culture. The palace is located on the 41 acres of land and the magnificent structure is located on the banks of River Bhagirathi. The beautiful garden with thousands of doors of the palace is really awe-striking. Among all the thousand doors only 900 are real whereas remaining are just false ones created to confuse the enemies if they enter the palace. The Italian and Greek architectural styles with a glimpse of royalty of the Mughals is seen here and there is also a museum here which displays the ancient, priceless things that were found here.
This spectacular Palace was constructed by the Nawab Wasif Ali Mirza Khan when eh ruled the region of Murshidabad. The palace is also called as the new palace as it was constructed way later then the Hazarduari Palace. Although it is very much huge like the Hazarduari palace, it is indeed breath-taking with the beautiful marble statues and architecture of the place. Most of the parts of the palace was destroyed in 1867 in the earthquake but now it is restored. The picturesque landscape with the statuesque palace will make your entire trip to Murshidabad very fun for sure.
