If you’re looking for a fun family getaway, Arizona has some amazing resort options that guarantee a memorable vacation. As a parent of two young kids myself, I know how tough it can be to find places that have activities for everyone to enjoy. But I recently discovered some incredible resorts in Arizona that truly cater to families. Whether you want to splash in waterparks, hike desert trails, play a round of golf, or just relax by the pool, these Arizona resorts have it all covered!
1. JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort
Let’s start with one of the more popular resorts in Arizona for families – the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix. This resort in Arizona has a massive waterpark with slides, a lazy river, and even a beach area. My kids went crazy for it! There are also four pools, an on-site spa for parents to pamper themselves, nine restaurants, and some of the largest guest rooms in Arizona with space for the whole family. Plus, it’s located right next to the Wildfire Golf Club if you want to sneak a round in!
2. Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa
Up north, you’ll discover another top choice when it comes to Arizona resorts for families – the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa. Family resorts in Arizona don’t get much better than this! From the 10-acre water playground with slides to the Camp Hyatt kids program, there is no shortage of activities to keep your little ones entertained. Parents will also love relaxing at the spa or splashing around one of the pools while the kids make friends at Camp Hyatt. And with several restaurants to choose from on-site, mealtime is a breeze.
3. Westin La Paloma Resort
If you want pleasant scenery to go along with your family-friendly resort, head just north of Tucson to the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa. Nestled against the backdrop of the Santa Catalina Mountains, this resort allows you to enjoy resort amenities along with a taste of the Sonoran Desert. Kids will have a blast floating down the 900-foot-long lazy river or racing down the 182-foot waterslide. For indoor fun, there are also basketball courts, game rooms, and kid-approved movies under the stars. And did I mention they have not one but two 18-hole golf courses? Plus plenty of hiking trails to satisfy your outdoor cravings.

4. Wigwam Luxury Resort in Litchfield Park
One of my favorite spots for Arizona resorts is The Wigwam luxury resort in Litchfield Park. This southwest-themed resort has Old West vibes blended flawlessly with modern amenities, making it a unique experience. Families have a long list of recreational activities to fill their days including multiple pools, tennis courts, bike rentals, and fire pits for roasting s’mores. The newly redesigned 300,000-gallon “River Ranch” waterpark area provides endless water fun with slides and fountains. And I have to mention the outstanding meal options like weekend brunches, family BBQs, and fine dining make this destination extra special.
5. Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass
Heading a bit further south in Chandler, the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass impresses with its extensive amenities spread across a 500-acre property. Family resorts in Arizona like this offer their own 18-hole championship golf course, equestrian center, expansive pool complex with waterslides, and the unique opportunity to experience Native American culture through their art, food, and adventure tours. Kids are immersed in hands-on learning while having an unforgettable vacation! Plus parents get to enjoy world-class spa treatments at Aji Spa during their stay.
6. Arizona Grand Resort & Spa
If you’re planning an Arizona family getaway on a budget, the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa is a fantastic value. Arizona resorts like this offer discounted all-suite accommodations with a 51,000 sq ft waterpark that will thoroughly entertain the kids. Flow through the rapids of the Colorado River ride, gather up the courage for Panic Falls extreme body slide, or relax in the catch pool. While the waterpark will be the highlight for kids, the entire family can also enjoy daily activities like tennis, volleyball, basketball, and the creative Oasis Experience program. It feels like summer camp…but way more luxurious!
