From Dehradun you need to undertake your further journey to the Pantwari village. Pantwari village is the base camp of Nag Tibba trek. You can take a bus, car, jeep, pool car or your personal vehicle to Pantwari.

It is needless to mention that trekking requires a lot of physical endurance. No doctors or emergency services are available at the summit. Normal bruises and accidents can be taken care of, but medical emergencies are perilous. Hence it is imperative that you consult your doctor before starting a trek. If you fall under any of these categories then beware-

  • If you have heart ailments then consult a medical practitioner before travelling.
  • If you have knee problems, chronic joint pain, arthritis and other orthopedic problems, think before starting a trek.
  • In case you have any underlying health issues then get a health certification before hiking.
  • Asthmatic patients and people with bronchial problems should get tested.
  • You should make it a point to learn about any allergies like dust allergy, pollen allergies and other issues to avoid health problems.
  • Carry your medicines and pills that you are required to take daily.

Once your doctor gives you a green signal, you are good to go! But make sure that you carry your own medical kit.

Here is a list of important medicines to carry-

  • Carry digestion medicines and pills with you.
  • Carrying bandaids, bandages, cotton rolls, antibacterial ointment and cream is a must.
  • Pack your pain relief spray and balms with you.
  • Make sure to keep a moisturizing lotion and sunscreen to save your skin from the raw, scorching heat.
  • Carry enough water purifying solution to get access to clean drinking water.
  • Medicines for controlling loose stools should be carried to, as mountain water might make your stomach upset.
  • Clean water and food should be carried by your hiker. Make sure that you undertake this journey under a certified hikers team. Also carry enough woollen and trekking gear.

  • Make sure that your shoes are made and designed for the purpose of trekking itself.

  • Make sure that you have your first aid kit at hand for cuts and bruises that are encountered. A band aid, painkillers, digestion medicines, dizziness pills and headache pills should be carried by you.
  • Your first aid kit must also have water purifying medicines and bandages in case of emergencies.
  • Groups are usually made for 10 or 15 people during this journey. You can make several friends and acquaintances during this trek. You can also Take your friends, family or colleagues along with you!
