4. The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies
It is a rehabilitation center with an interactive museum. The visitors can learn about ocean life. The staff takes care of the marine mammals and is one of the only dolphin rescue facilities on the Gulf Coast. The museum has dolphin presentations by which the visitors learn about those intelligent creatures while watching them play with their trainers. There one can learn about reptiles, birds, and many more.
5. Mississippi Museum of Natural Science
The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science offers its visitors a unique opportunity that will help about learning the natural world. It has a 100,000-gallon aquarium, which is house more than 200 native species. It also exhibits a large fossil collection and an extensive look at white-tailed deer.
6. Elvis Presley’s Birthplace & Museum
Elvis Presley; who sparked as a young boy, was born in a two-room house that was built by his father in Tupelo, Mississippi. Elvis’s interest in music came up when he was young, and used to listen to gospel music in church. Visitors can find the memories of the King’s early life, and there is a gift shop full of Elvis-themed souvenirs.
7. Jackson Zoological Park
The park is home to 250 animals and 150 species from around the world. There are several endangered species in residence, which include the red-ruffled lemur, reticulated giraffe, Sumatran tiger, red wolf, pygmy hippopotamus, and many more. In addition to this, there is a large selection of snakes, from poisonous copperheads to massive anacondas will also fascinate by the Madagascar hissing cockroach.
8. Old Capitol Museum
The building was once used as the State House and is now known to be Mississippi’s former state capitol building. The building is made of limestone, is now open to the public, and is a free museum, and historic events took place here.
