Borra caves
The Caves are located on the Araku Valley and is considered to be one of the largest caves in the country. Being famous for speleothem, stalactites and stalagmites the caves consist of Karstic Limestone. Borra Caves have an elevation of about 705 metres and are also known as the deepest cave in India. There are high chances for tourists to find bats and golden geckos here and if you like hiking then this place would be perfect for you.
INS Kursura (S20)
The submarine was India's 5th submarine and participated in the Indo-Pakistani war in 1971. The ship decommissioned after 31 years of service and also is known to play a major role in several wars and trips to other nations back in its days. On the Rk beach you can find this ship in a museum now and is to date awarded with navy's Dressing Ship honour.
Kailasagiri
The hilltop park is known for panoramic view and is at 360 feet which makes it easy to overlook the beautiful city of Vishakhapatnam. There are circular trains, adventure games, huge majestic idols of Lord Shiva and Parvathi making this place perfect for everyone. The refreshing atmosphere over the hills and the wide view of the entire city giving a clear view of huge buildings, temples and beaches is surely breath-taking.
The Indira Gandhi Zoological Park
Named after the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi the park covers 625 acres and is the 3rd largest zoo in the country. With eighty species of animals there are different parts for them and you can also enjoy the mini train here by watching all the animals. The zoo is a perfect place for kids and animal lovers and it is very fun to spend time here.
Katiki Falls
The waterfalls are around 4 kms away from Borra caves and it originates from River Gosthani. The height of the waterfall is around 50 ft and is amazing for a short picnic with all the landscape and clear water. The place is also famous for providing some of the best Andhra Pradesh’s special food and snacks via the several food stalls and restaurants nearby the waterfall. You will find many birds here and the natural vegetation having greenery spread all around is remarkable.
Bojjannakonda
Tracing back to 4th and 9th Century A.D the caves are a set of six rock-cut caves which is beautifully carved. Tourists will find two statues of Gautam Buddha along with stupas where during the ancient period the Buddhist monks used to sit and meditate. If you wish to get to know about Buddhism in Visakhapatnam then do visit this place. Also, the 3 different phases of Buddhism that is Mahayana, Hinayana and Vajrayana are found here and the place is over all magnificent.
