The Namgyal Monastery
It is believed that the great spiritual Tibetan leader Dalai Lama had his abode at this holy monastery of Namgyal and thus the temple here is also the largest one found in the entire region of Tibet. The peaceful and clean atmosphere surely attracts thousands of tourists and also worshippers who refer to this temple as Dalai Lama’s temple. It was built around in 16th century by the second Dalai Lama and several practices are performed here by more than 200 monks who reside in this sacred place.
The Bhagsunag Temple
Surrounded with picturesque landscape and pure greenery the Bhagsunag temple is one of the oldest ones found here and is revered by the Gorkha as well as the Hindu community. There are two pools surrounding the temple and as per the legend, these pools are very holy and are considered to have powers to heal. There is also a bazaar nearby where you can get a glimpse of several attractive things and cultural things found in the region and also Bhagsunath temple is located nearby it. .
The Bhagsu Waterfall
This majestic place is really famous among tourists as the true beauty of nature is something that you would find here. The water falls from a distance of 30 feet and is surrounded by an area covered with many trees. The gorgeous waterfall is much more breath-taking if you visit this place during the monsoons and also if you like trekking then this is the right place for you indeed.
The Tsuglagkhang Complex
The place has its own unique significance as it is considered to be one of the holiest places in the region. The Dalai Lama resides here and many devotees visit this place for seeking blessings. There is also a Tibet Museum here which will provide a great information of the region for you to explore. Also, you will find several paintings, reports and documents explaining the history of the region. There are several statues found here including the statue of Lord Buddha and Guru Rinpoche.
