The Dhobi Falls
The amazing waterfalls is very famous in the hill station and is
highly visited during the monsoon season. There are a group of falls found here
and is filled with greenery surrounding it. The rocky region with the heavy gush
of stream falling here is totally majestic to look at. The fall streams down the
Koyna river are more amazing when you take dip in its clean water. The place is
also very famous among trekkers as you need to trek for a bit before reaching
the waterfalls.
The Elephant's Head Point
The viewpoint is been serving one of the most
delightful sights found in the region. The picturesque viewpoint serves the best
stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys and is surrounded with
Sahyadri ranges. As it highly resembles the head and trunk of an elephant it is
called Elephant’s Head Point. The place also looks like a needlepoint and this is
also known as the Needle point. It gets completely filled with lush greenery
during the monsoon and you would love the hike to the point for sure. Enjoy the
refreshing atmosphere while sightseeing.
The Venna Lake
The astounding lake is a manmade lake which is made to
perfect with the scenic views found here. The lake was constructed by Shri
Appasaheb Maharaj, a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It was
constructed in 1942. You can enjoy boating here as there are row boating and
paddle boating available here. Also, children love this place as there are horse
riding facilities available here too There are many food stalls surrounding the
lake. You can enjoy the local snacks and some fresh fruits and veggies selling
here too. Also, it serves as a great picnic spot.
The Arthur's Seat
It is a combination of 6 viewpoints al together including the
Arthur's Seat Point, Tiger Sprint Point, Hunter Point, Echo Point, Window Point
and Malcolm Point. Being very popular, the viewpoint is famous for offering the
mesmerising views of all the pints together. You can also get a clear view of
Brahma-Arayana and the Savitri river. After Arthur Malet’s daughter and wife
drowned in the river, the point was named as Arthur’s Seat. He used to sit her
and look at the river. You would have to trek to the pint to enjoy the amazing
view from here.
