As the name goes by East Khasi Hills, the region is famous for the Khasi tribe of located in Meghalaya and is renowned for the dense evergreen forests found here.

The Khasi Hills are part of the Garo-Khasi range, and many peeks and valleys are found here which makes the place look more glorious. Hills are also known as the 'Scotland of the east' and is also known as the picturesque capital of Meghalaya. The Ward’s Lake

The lake is one of the highly visited places in the region and is also known ad the Pollock’s lake. The lake is a must to visit spot with beautiful green garden surrounding it. It absolutely looks stunning during the sunset time and the air here is totally refreshing. The lake is believed to be around 100 years old and is very much astounding and was planned by then Chief Commissioner Sir William Ward. You can enjoy boating here along with cafeterias found here.

Elephant Falls

The place was also before known as the Ka Kshaid Lai Pateng Khohsiew and is a three Steps Waterfalls which is filled with abundant nature’s beauty. The rocky region was a bit destroyed due the earthquake that occurred in 1897 and you can easily reach the waterfall by just a small walk path. The waterfall was British renamed and truly us a must to visit falls in the region.

The Lady Hydari Park

The Park is so beautiful and highly attracts kids a there are many swings and slides for them to have lots of fun here. The park is located in the heart of the city and is indeed breath-taking as the spread lush greenery is very delightful to look at. There are many bushes and varieties of flowers found here and thus this lush green park is visited by so many tourists out there. Various migratory birds, crane and animals like bear, and deer are also found here.

Don Bosco museum

Also known as the DON Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures (DBCIC) is a bit far from the tourist spot of Khali hills and it also has a research centre. The display of so many different cultures found here are very much interesting to know about. Also know about multi-cultural lifestyles of for knowing about the rich culture of different regions and promoting it. There is total Nineteen galleries, a media hall and a library found here. It has a rich collection of different paintings and indeed an amazing tourist spot to know about.
