1. Amicalola Falls

As you emerge from the forest, you’re treated to a breathtaking view of the 729-foot falls. You feel a light mist on your face as you watch the water tumble down the rocky ledges. Photos simply don’t do this massive waterfall justice – you have to see it in person to fully appreciate its power and beauty.
2. Anna Ruby Falls
Next on this list of Georgia waterfalls is Anna Ruby Falls, situated near Unicoi State Park in Helen. After working up an appetite with the hike to Amicalola Falls, you stop in Helen for a hearty German lunch before continuing on. The hike to Anna Ruby Falls follows Smith Creek and is relatively easy, making it accessible for families.
As you come around a bend, you’re greeted by not just one, but two cascading Waterfalls in Georgia – Curtis Falls and York Falls. The waters combine about 50 feet above the pool into Anna Ruby Falls, creating a spectacular sight.
The sound of rushing water echoes off the surrounding rock walls. Before leaving, you sit and enjoy a picnic lunch while taking in the views.

3. Minnehaha Falls
Minnehaha Falls should definitely be another stop on your Georgia Waterfalls road trip. Located in Columbus, the falls are situated in a serene, shady gorge.
The hike downhill is fairly easy and takes you alongside the stream to the base of the falls. As you walk behind the waterfall, you feel the cool spray of water and hear the roar of the cascade.
Shafts of light streaming through the trees dance across the turbulent pool below. Minnehaha Falls is picturesque any time of day, but especially beautiful at sunset when the light filters through the trees.
4. Tallulah Falls

Located in Tallulah Falls, this massive canyon features six impressive Georgia waterfalls including the nearly 100-foot-tall Hurricane Falls.

The most popular section is the North Rim Trail and L’Eau d’Or Falls, which can be viewed from suspension bridges stretching 80 feet across the gorge.

5. Raven Cliff Falls
Your last Georgia waterfalls stop is the enchanting Raven Cliff Falls nestled deep in the mountains near Helen. Getting to the falls requires a moderately strenuous 2.5-mile hike, but it’s worth it.
As you make your way down the trail following a lush green creek, you can already hear the thunderous roar of Raven Cliff Falls. Breaking through the trees, you’re awestruck by the stunning 120-foot waterfall cascading into a pristine pool.
The force and volume of water are incredible. You find a sunny rock to sit on and quietly take in the beauty and tranquility of this secluded waterfall.
Building up an appetite on the hike back, you head into Helen for a celebratory dinner of brats, beer, and live polka music.
