Good news: despite a difficult year, premium hotels have opened numerous new properties that have everything travellers may need in a post-pandemic world. So, while planning your next holiday, why not try something new at one of these new places? Here are the top new hotels in India for 2022.
The Fern Seaside Luxurious Tent Resort, Daman
This luxurious tent home, set against the background of the Moti Daman Fort, will debut in December 2020. The 30 tents provide a pillow menu, in-room dining, a sit-out patio, an LED television, and a view of the sea. Take a swim at the pool, play chess, carom, and badminton, go cycling, read a book on the hammock, or dive into a substantial dinner at one of the restaurants. O Gosto is an all-day eating choice, ‘Gardenia,’ as the name suggests, is a garden restaurant and bar, and O Barzinho is a cocktail bar.
The Leela Hotel and Residences Bhartiya City Bengaluru
In the second half of this year, the Leela hotel company plans to establish its second hotel in the growing I-T region. It will be in Bhartiya City, a high-end township including high-end retail, entertainment, and business spaces. This hotel will contain 281 rooms and suites, as well as a rooftop Indian restaurant, a fitness center, a heated pool, a spa, a bar, and other amenities. It will take 30 minutes to get to the airport.
The Connaught
A hotel opens in Luytens’ Delhi regularly. This chic 104-room IHCL hotel is part of their SeleQtions portfolio, and it was built to blend in with the Georgian architecture of Delhi’s famed British-era retail and commercial district. There is only one restaurant, the Hub, which also functions as a trendy bar and has a nice outside space. You may check-in with your pets if you are an animal lover.
Taj Skyline Ahmedabad
If you’re looking for a hotel with commanding views of the city, this 18-story Taj resort (which debuted in December) is the new address in town. It is one of the city’s highest towers, with 170 rooms and plans to construct another 145 shortly. It has three restaurants: Shamiana, an all-day diner, Nonya, which serves Chinese and Thai food, and the Emperor’s Lounge. The Taj’s famed Shamiana restaurant is the group’s third, following Taj Mumbai and Dubai. The Jiva Spa and an indoor temperature-controlled pool are available at the hotel.
The Postcard Hotel
This premium boutique hotel brand, whose USP is leisurely, easygoing vacations, plans to launch three more locations this year: Maravanthe Coast in Karnataka, Mashobra in Himachal Pradesh, and Gir Wildlife Sanctuary in Gujarat. The 15-room Gir hotel will be placed inside the forest, surrounded by mango plantations — go there if you want to see the Asiatic Lion. The Mashobra resort, nestled among cherry orchards, will offer 23 valley-facing rooms, while the hotel in Karnataka will be located on a gorgeous length of coastline. There will be no defined check-in or check-out time, so expect the Postcard signature treatment.
Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa, Darjeeling
This exquisite 72-room Taj group hotel is located inside the expansive Makaibari Tea Estate, which dates back to 1859. Needless to say, the resort offers breathtaking views of mountains and tea gardens, which are sometimes drenched in sunlight and other times shrouded in a romantic mist. The flats are appropriately furnished with four-poster beds and hardwood décor. There are two restaurants, one of which is a fine dining restaurant named Sonargaon, and the other is an exquisite tea lounge where you may have high tea and a tea tasting session with the tea sommelier. The hallmark treatments are available at the Jiva Spa.
Hilton Goa Resort
You may have visited Goa several times, but a new resort makes the trip exciting. The Hilton group’s most recent addition to this popular holiday destination is a 104-room resort in Candolim overlooking the Nerul River, which has been open since November. The rooms all have balconies, and the suites include a private plunge pool. Speaking of pools, this resort is one of the few in Goa with four outdoor pools, one of which is specifically designed for children. When the need to eat strikes, there are three options: Saipe, an all-day dining restaurant, Coco, a high-octane lounge bar, and Doce café. Do not miss the sunset views, but if you want to relax on the beach, it is only a 10-minute walk away.
Tree of Life Homestead, Corbett Country
This 12-room luxury boutique hotel, which is slated to open in the summer of 2021, will have a kids play area, a comfortable fireplace, a huge lawn and fruit orchards, a BBQ area, freshly prepared meals, and a six-hole golf course next door. A safari will, of course, be on your plan, but, like other Tree of Life hotels, this one provides a variety of exciting adventures such as birding, a visit to the adjacent town, riding an ATV, and more.
Six Senses Fort Barwara
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live behind the solid rock walls of an ancient fort? This dreamlike experience is available at Six Senses’ first hotel. When it reopens in the second half of 2021, the 14th-century Barwara fort in Rajasthan will include 48 suites, two restaurants, and swimming pools. In addition, the iconic Six Senses Spa will occupy 30,000 square feet of space in what was once the women’s castle. You may go on a safari during your stay here, which is only 30 minutes from Ranthambore National Park.
King’s Mansion, Goa
This 17-suite health retreat in north Goa will be the first of its type in town, with a strong emphasis on wellness. The premium wellness programmes, which will last from seven days to three weeks, will focus on detox, weight control, and other topics. Moss Wellness Consultancy will design them, and they will integrate Ayurveda. King’s Mansion was Vijay Mallya’s ‘Kingfisher Villa,’ and it is currently owned by Indian actor Sachiin Joshi, who designed the interiors.
