The Frick Collection, New York City, United States

Henry Clay Frick was a major figure in Pittsburgh's coke and steel industries in the nineteenth century.

After achieving financial success, however, he left to focus on his true calling as an artist.

Frick amassed an extraordinary collection of excellent ornamental pieces and art by renowned luminaries

from the past until his death in 1919.

The museum housing his collection opened six years before his death.

Main attractions include works by Rembrandt, Fragonard, and Vermeer.
