Walt Disney, whose full name was Walter Elias Disney, was an American film and television producer and showman
who was best known for popularising animated cartoon films and creating characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
He was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois, and died on December 15, 1966, in Los Angeles.
He also conceived of and oversaw construction of Disneyland, a massive amusement park that opened in the Los Angeles area in 1955
before his untimely demise, he had also begun construction on Walt Disney World in the Orlando, Florida area.
The Walt Disney Company, which he co-founded, is now a global powerhouse in the entertainment industry.
